What is the Einbürgerungstest?
The German citizenship test (officially the "Leben in Deutschland" test) checks knowledge of the legal system, society, and the federal state you live in. It's a requirement for naturalization and is administered by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
In the real exam you get 33 questions: 30 general questions that apply nationwide, plus 3 questions specific to your federal state. You have 60 minutes and need at least 17 out of 33 correct answers to pass.
This app contains the complete official question pool — all 300 general questions plus the 10 state-specific questions for each of the 16 federal states.
